Quick & Easy Crochet

Welcome everyone!

Do you ever find yourself needing a quick project to either give your brain a break, or merely to have something fun and different to do? Here are a few of my favorite quick and easy crochet projects.

Dishcloths. I LOVE homemade dishcloths. I grew up with a mom who knit a lot, and all of our kitchen dishcloths were knitted. I don't understand why you would even buy kitchen dishcloths if you are capable of knitting or crocheting them yourself. But, you know, to each their own.

FYI, I usually just use inexpensive Sugar & Cream or Peaches & Cream cotton yarn for dishcloths.

I just recently tried my first "waffle stitch" - it was so much fun, and made such a wonderful texture for a dishcloth. I followed along to this YouTube video by Bella Coco (I LOVE her videos), and it turned out amazingly.

I've also made a few dishcloths with just single crochet across, and it's SO easy-peasy. Chain to the width that you think should be the size of your dishcloth, and simply single crochet every stitch across every row. (I also love the self-striping Sugar & Cream yarn that I got at JoAnn Fabric).

Reusable face scrubbies. This is a recent project - I made one just to see if I could do it, got some advice on how to make it not "ripple", and made another one. These are SO easy, and you could bang out quite a few in one hour. I'm planning on making a bunch of these, sticking them in a mason jar, and using them to apply toner to my face, or remove makeup at the end of the day. No more needing to buy disposable cotton pads - just throw them in the washing machine and use them again. I have a large cone of white Peaches & Cream yarn, and I testing it on my sensitive skin - soft and perfect! There are so many patterns out there for these - find the one that is perfect for you! Mine is just single crochets, with the last round being double crochets.
